Why not a viking detective? Why not Eirik Glee, who can sing and play the harp at weddings, knows sagas, composes insults and solves riddles. And what is a viking murder mystery except a riddle to solve?
I was thrilled to write The Thief Of Faces and it jumped onto the page. I'm having trouble finding an agent for it, so I'm releasing it as a POD paperback and Kindle ebook, to see if it finds any fans.
I'm itching to write the sequel, The Silent Shield Maiden. I want to see more of wise-cracking, violence-averse Eirik and Ogmund the berserker - the Watson to his Holmes - and of course the slave Valka, who might just be more intelligent than her masters.
I'm redrafting MALEFICIVM now, but I'll return to Eirik Glee again in the new year. The next project is an Anglo-Saxon family drama and romance set on the Eve of Hastings. But Eirik Glee is first in my heart at the moment and I'd love some feedback on what works and what doesn't.
